COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course provides an introduction to the skills necessary to become an esthetician, designed for individuals without previous experience in the esthetics industry. The course spans two semesters and prepares participants for the North Carolina Board exam. Topics covered include, but are not limited to, safety and sanitation practices, basic facial treatments (such as steam facials, machine facials, LED light therapy, and high-frequency treatments), makeup application, skincare techniques, and hair removal methods (including creams, tweezing, and waxing). Students will also learn eyelash application techniques, including extensions, eyebrow and eyelash tinting, eyelash lifting, and eyebrow lamination. Additionally, the course teaches techniques for enhancing different parts of the body using cosmetic preparations and the manipulation of surfaces for skincare treatments. The curriculum also includes methods for cleansing and stimulating the face, neck, ears, arms, hands, bust, torso, legs, and feet using hands, devices, and appliances, as well as antiseptics, tonics, lotions, or creams for body treatments.

COURSE OBJECTIVE:
– Upon completion, students should be able to safely and competently apply esthetics concepts in a beauty salon setting.
– Students should be able to perform proper blood exposure procedures on themselves and their clients.
– Students should know how to correctly clean and disinfect tools, instruments, and work areas.
– Students should be able to demonstrate safe and competent basic facial techniques, including steam treatments, waxing, eyelash lifting, eyebrow lamination, artificial eyelash application, and eyelash and eyebrow tinting.

PROGRAM LENGTH: The program consists of two semesters.

REQUIREMENTS AT THE TIME OF ENROLLMENT:
– A copy of either a Social Security Card or a Tax ID.
– A copy of either a valid ID or a valid Passport.

– Tuition: $197.00 per semester
– Books: Estimated at $520.00 (Esthetics Fundamentals & Foundation Textbook Package ISBN: 9780357263792 and Workbooks Package ISBN: 9780357482841)
– Student Kit: Estimated at $300.00
– Uniform: The cost of the uniform will depend on the brand chosen by the student.
