Electrical Lineworker

The 12-week Electrical Lineworker Program provides students the opportunity to embark on a rewarding career in the electrical linework industry. This is accomplished by providing training methods that have proven extremely effective in preparing students to be highly successful employees.

  • Basic Transformers and Operation
  • Basic Electricity/ Electrical Theory
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Basic Line Construction
  • Line Truck Operations
  • OSHA 10
  • First Aid/CPR
  • NC Flagger
  • Pole Top Rescue
  • Bucket Truck Rescue

Course Specifics:

Graduates of the JSCC Electrical Lineworker will develop many skills through the provided training.

Some specific skills obtained will be:

  • The ability to identify and demonstrate safe workplace practices
  • Proper use and maintenance of PPE
  • Safe operations and inspections of equipment and poles
  • Ability to climb and perform various duties on poles
  • Construction of overhead lines, consisting of single-phase, two-phase, and three-phase lines-all within the time frame and parameters of class
  • Demonstrate Pole Top Rescue techniques
  • Demonstration Bucket Truck Rescue
  • Competency in Fall Arrest technique
  • Knot Tying
