Nail Technology

This comprehensive course provides instruction and clinical practice in manicuring, nail building (application and maintenance of artificial nails), and pedicure. Course content includes nail anatomy, nail disorders, and nail irregularities; theory and sales related to manicuring; hands-on practice of manicuring; and arm, hand, and foot massage. Manicuring students must complete the required hours in an approved program before applying for the State Board of Cosmetic Arts examination.

Course Objectives:

  • Upon completion, students should be able to safely and competently apply Nail Technology concepts in a beauty salon setting.
  • Students should be able to perform proper blood exposure procedures on themselves and their clients.
  • Students should know how to correctly clean and disinfect tools, instruments, and work areas.
