BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY BENEFITS STUDENTS DESIRING TO TRANSFER TO FOUR-YEAR UNIVERSITIES

KENANSVILLE, NC, Wednesday, July 31st, 2024: James Sprunt Community College (JSCC) recently obtained a new partnership with East Carolina University (ECU). This bilateral agreement guarantees admission into ECUā€™s Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology (BSIT).

ā€œIt provides an opportunity for our students to transition to ECU seamlessly,ā€ said Dr. Jay Carraway, president of JSCC. ā€œItā€™s more opportunity for growth, success, and career development.ā€

As students experience a more competitive environment when getting into college, partnerships such as this provide students with a competitive edge in the application process. This partnershipĀ provides students who graduate with a 2.0 GPA or higher with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Industrial Systems Technology with 53 credit hours toward their BSIT degree at ECU.

Elizabeth Howard, Dean of Business and Industry, states, ā€œWe are excited about this bilateral agreement and partnership with East Carolina University. This agreement will provide additional opportunities for our James Sprunt Community College students to continue their education without leaving Duplin County. Our Industrial Systems program started last fall, and we are excited to watch it evolve.ā€

JSCC is excited about the opportunities this partnership will unlock for students who use this program. For more information on Industrial Systems Technology at JSCC, please contact Emily Smith at (910) 275-6170.
