RECENT STATE EXAMS PROVE EXCELLENCE IN JSCC BLET PROGRAM.

KENANSVILLE, NC, Tuesday, June 12th, 2024: James Sprunt Community College proudly supports the Basic Law Enforcement Program. BLET instructor Eric Southerland has obtained a wealth of experience in his own career in law enforcement. He hopes his students will experience the same level of success and career fulfillment he has as a police officer.

“My hope for all of my students is always that they have a safe and fulfilling career.”

Basic Law Enforcement Training in the state of North Carolina requires students to complete 648 hours / 30 weeks of training. This results in being qualified to work as a law enforcement officer within the state of N.C. In a recent ceremony on campus, Southerland graduated five students from this program.

“This class had some of the youngest students to date. Two of the students started at the age of 19, which is extremely rare, let alone two in the same class! The oldest student was only 29.”

Eric is proud to announce the 100% pass rate this semester and hopes to experience this with future classes! JSCC held an awards ceremony on May 28th to present their certificates.

Our next Day BLET Program starts July 22nd and Night BLET Program is scheduled for the fall. While dates have not yet been announced, JSCC is currently accepting applications. For more information, please contact Eric Southerland at (910) 275-6205 or esoutherland@jamessprunt.edu.
