This course prepares students for the role of a Health Unit Coordinator in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare settings. Students learn essential administrative and communication skills required to support patient care units, including medical terminology, healthcare documentation, patient scheduling, electronic health records, hospital procedures, and professional communication. The course emphasizes coordination of patient information, interaction with healthcare teams, confidentiality standards, and organizational skills necessary for efficient healthcare operations. Upon completion, students will be equipped to manage unit activities, facilitate communication among healthcare professionals, and contribute to the delivery of quality patient care.
