CONTINUING EDUCATION GRADUATES TO HEAR FROM NATIONAL WORKFORCE AND ENERGY LEADER
On Thursday, May 14, James Sprunt Community College (JSCC) will hold its annual commencement exercises. Both the Continuing Education and Curriculum graduation ceremonies will take place throughout the day as the College celebrates the accomplishments of its 2026 graduates.
The commencement speaker for the Continuing Education ceremony will be James E. Campos, President of Red Post Energy Futures, an innovative company that develops, owns, and operates complex energy infrastructure systems designed to support grid resilience and a growing industrial and technological economy.
Campos is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining Red Post Energy Futures, he served as Assistant Secretary for the U.S. Department of Energy. He has also held leadership roles, including Virginia’s Deputy Secretary of Commerce and Trade and Executive Director of the Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission (TRRC).
JSCC President Dr. Shannon Hair shared his enthusiasm about Campos addressing the graduates. “We are honored to welcome the Honorable James Campos as our 2026 Continuing Education commencement speaker. Throughout his career, he has championed workforce development, economic growth, and opportunities for individuals in rural communities. His passion for education and workforce advancement makes him an excellent choice to inspire this year’s graduating class,” Hair said.
Gloria Wiggins is the Vice President of Workforce Development & Continuing Education. Considering all of Campos’ accomplishments, Wiggins feels he will deliver an inspirational speech fitting for this group of graduates. Wiggins said,
“I am thrilled to recognize the incredible accomplishments of our students. Their success is exactly why Workforce Development and Continuing Education matter. It opens doors and transforms futures. This recognition ceremony is a celebration of their hard work, determination, and the bright futures they are building for themselves and our community.”
James Sprunt Community College looks forward to celebrating its graduates’ achievements and to welcoming family, friends, faculty, and community members to this special occasion.
