What is Crayons on Campus?

Crayons on Campus is a collaboration between James Sprunt Community College and the Duplin County School System that began in 2011. No longer is the high school diploma sufficient to succeed in all occupations, so the mission of this program is to express to our younger community of students that they can be successful and every student can attend college. For many elementary school students, this is an exciting process, with a trip to the campus of James Sprunt Community College to see firsthand how learning can be fun. Instilling hope and confidence in the children is a priority of Crayons on Campus. The young children spend a day making their own memories in a higher education environment. Crayons on Campus shows elementary school children that learning is fun. Pre-K programs are a starting goal for these children, and college is the end goal. The program is designed to open doors for students to be confident in what they can do and achieve. Description
