AN EVENING OF CELEBRATING DONORS, STUDENT SUCCESS, AND THE LASTING IMPACT OF COMMUNITY SUPPORT
On Thursday, April 30th, the James Sprunt Community College Foundation hosted its annual President’s Reception at Mad Boar Restaurant. This meaningful event celebrated the generous donors and supporters of the JSCC Foundation while highlighting the vital role continued support plays in student success.
The evening began with a welcome from Foundation Director Taylor Sandlin, followed by an invocation from Rev. Dr. A.J. Connors, member of the JSCC Board of Trustees. Guests then enjoyed an evening of fellowship and dining before hearing inspiring testimonies from students whose lives have been impacted by James Sprunt Community College.
Featured speakers included:
- Kennard Watkins, Diesel Technology student
- Mrs. Angelica Santibanez, donor
- Miss Sara Peterson, Presidential Scholar
Shannon Hair, President of James Sprunt Community College, shared the following remarks:
“This event, the program highlights, and the student stories further demonstrate the new SPRUNT way in which the community understands the impact of JSCC and the importance of financial support. Raising $5,000 in just three minutes is a true example of Duplin County philanthropy at its best. Thank you to everyone who believes in our mission and vision at James Sprunt Community College.”
Foundation Director Taylor Sandlin added:
“We are extremely appreciative of the community partners and donors who continue to show their commitment and dedication to JSCC and our students.”
The evening concluded with a special presentation from Dr. Hair, who expressed gratitude to attendees for their ongoing support of the Foundation and encouraged them to continue investing in the future of JSCC students as they work toward building better lives for themselves and their families.
