RECOGNITION HIGHLIGHTS STRONG PARTNERSHIP AND SHARED COMMITMENT TO WORKFORCE AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Recently, James Sprunt Community College was named the Beulaville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business of the Month. Chamber President John Weston noted that recipients are selected through a lottery system, ensuring that all participating Chamber members will eventually be recognized.
Weston shared, “All of the businesses in the Beulaville Chamber are great. Each deserves a spotlight. Our whole purpose is to promote our local businesses, and it is our joy to highlight JSCC this round.”
A longtime supporter of the College, Weston also expressed his appreciation for JSCC and its impact on the community.
This is a great place for students to go to school and get the education they need to enter the workforce. I have always supported JSCC with scholarships because I value helping students. JSCC has always helped the Chamber, and we are happy, in turn, to always help them.”
James Sprunt Community College President Dr. Shannon Hair expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating,
On behalf of our Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, and students, thank you to the Beulaville Area Chamber of Commerce for selecting James Sprunt Community College as your Business of the Month for June. Our mission and vision closely align with the Chamber’s goals as we work together to meet the educational and workforce needs of Duplin County.”
Membership in a local chamber of commerce provides valuable opportunities for connection, collaboration, and community growth. Through events, networking, and shared resources, members strengthen relationships across industries while supporting local economic development.
Director of Development Taylor Sandlin also shared appreciation, stating,

As a community college, our success is built on strong partnerships, and we are proud to work alongside local businesses, organizations, and leaders to strengthen our workforce and create pathways to success for our students.”
